Hello! I’m Shama
Licensed Professional Counselor
My Approach & Values
Life is a journey meant to be shared, and seeking help can feel overwhelming. The therapist’s goal is to partner with clients in identifying strengths, goals, and passions to empower change and healing. They emphasize the importance of discovering personal value and worth, which positively impacts both personal and professional life. By creating a non-judgmental and supportive environment, the therapist helps clients develop healthier behaviors, identify unhelpful thought patterns, and find emotional balance and purpose. Faith-based approaches are also available for those who choose to integrate them. The focus remains on increasing life satisfaction, safety, and making positive life changes while addressing past trauma and how it influences the present.

Individual Therapy
Individual therapy involves one-on-one sessions between a therapist and a client. It focuses on the client’s personal issues, emotions, and mental health challenges. The therapist provides a safe space for the client to explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and work towards personal goals. Common approaches include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and humanistic therapy.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy, or marriage counseling, is designed for couples who are experiencing difficulties in their relationship. A therapist works with both partners to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and understand each other’s perspectives. The therapy aims to strengthen the relationship and may involve exercises and discussions focused on intimacy, trust, and shared goals.
Group Therapy
Group therapy involves multiple participants who share similar issues or experiences, guided by a therapist. It provides a supportive environment where individuals can share their thoughts, learn from others, and practice new skills. Group therapy can be beneficial for issues like addiction, depression, or anxiety, as it fosters a sense of community and reduces feelings of isolation.
